SU-1510 Shark Bite Front Spreader Bar (Shark Bite Arms) 63-82

De Shark Bite voorste spreader bar is ontworpen om de voorste dwarsbalk te stabiliseren en te verstevigen. Geschikt voor gebruik met Shark Bite aluminium bovenste draagarmen.

De voorste dwarsbalk van de C2 of C3 Corvette staat bekend om de zwakke verticale bevestiging aan de dwarsbalk waar de bovenste draagarm op vastgeschroefd zit. Dit zwakke punt zorgt ervoor dat de staander kan verzakken en naar binnen kan buigen, wat de geometrie van de ophanging negatief beïnvloedt. Bovendien is het bevestigingspunt van de onderste draagarm van de voorste dwarsbalk een bron van vermoeidheid en scheurvorming in de bevestiging.

Met de Shark Bite spreader bar kunnen Corvette-eigenaren de doorhangende verticale steunen binnen enkele minuten weer in de juiste verticale positie brengen. Deze spreader bar past op bestaande getapte gaten in de Shark Bite bovenste lichtmetalen dwarsas. De installatie duurt ongeveer tien minuten met normaal handgereedschap – en eenmaal op zijn plaats kan de stang eenvoudig worden aangepast om de gehele dwarsbalk/staande ophanging aanzienlijk te verstevigen en opnieuw uit te lijnen. De voorwielophanging staat dan weer in de juiste positie en is bestand tegen buiging in bochten.

The Shark Bite front spreader bar is designed to stabilize and stiffen the front cross member. For use with Shark Bite aluminum upper control arms.

The C2 or C3 Corvette front cross member is notorious for the flimsy vertical attachment on the cross member where the upper a-arm bolts on. This weak point allows the upright to settle and flex inward, adversely changing the suspension geometry. In addition, the front cross member lower control arm attachment point is a focal point for fatigue and cracking of the mount.

With the Shark Bite spreader bar, Corvette owners can spread the sagging vertical mounts back to their proper upright position in minutes. This spreader bar fits on existing tapped holes in the Shark Bite upper a-arm alloy cross shaft. Installation takes about ten minutes, with normal hand tools – and once in place the bar can be easily adjusted to greatly stiffen and re-align the entire cross member / upright suspension attachments. The front suspension will then be back to where it was designed to be positioned, and will resist flexing associated with cornering.
