892-280 C5 Stuurkolom lock bypass EF 97-04

Een veel voorkomend probleem met de Corvettes 1997-2004 is een defecte stuurkolomvergrendeling. Het probleem wordt vaak beschouwd als een gebrek aan ruimte tussen de kolomvergrendelingsmodule en de stuurkolomvergrendelingsplaat, maar het gevolg is dat uw stuurkolom met C5-Corvetten op de meest ongeschikte momenten wordt vergrendeld. Zoals zittend op de parkeerplaats van uw favoriete restaurant op een date night of in baan 4 van het tankstation voor een snelle tankbeurt. Als het gebeurt, is er geen oplossing voor. Je kolom is vergrendeld en je komt te laat.

Deze Corvette-bypasskit met vergrendeling uit het Corvette-systeem uit 1997-2004 is anders dan GM onder de garantie of wat op de afterrmarket beschikbaar was. Deze kit elimineert het volledige kolomvergrendelingssysteem bij de carrosserieregelmodule (BCM). Inclusief complete instructies en installatie duurt ca. 30 minuten. Als je stuurkolom voor 1997-2004 al vergrendeld is, moet je ook de unlocker 892-281 kopen (foto 2). De “ontgrendelaar” is ontworpen om stroom te leveren aan de kolomslotsolenoïde om de eenheid uit de vergrendelde positie te ontkoppelen.

Opmerking: De Corvette-ontstekingsschakelaar (elektrisch) uit 1997-2004 kan ook problemen veroorzaken met betrekking tot het blokkeren van de C5-Corvette-kolom – Wij bevelen aan de contactsleutel te vervangen ALS de problemen met het kolomslot aanhouden.

A common problem with 1997-2004 Corvettes is a faulty ignition switch steering column lock. The issue is often considered a lack of clearance between the column lock module and the steering column lock plate but the result is that your C5 Corvettes steering column will lock-up at the most inappropriate times. Such as sitting in the parking lot of your favorite restaurant on a date night or in lane 4 of the gas station for a quick fill up. When it happens there is no fix for it. Your column is locked and youre going to be late.

This 1997-2004 Corvette column lock bypass kit is different than what GM provided under warranty or what has been available in the afterrmarket. This kit eliminates the entire column lock system at the body control module (BCM). Includes complete instructions and installation takes approx. 30 minutes. If your 1997-2004 steering column is already locked than you will also need to purchase the unlocker 892-281 photo2. The “unlocker” is designed to provide power to the column lock solenoid to disengage the unit from the locked position.

Note: The 1997-2004 Corvette ignition switch (electrical) can also cause some C5 Corvette column lock issues – We recommend replacing the ignition switch IF column lock issues persist.
