C1 Expansion Tank (Replacement) 61-62

New replacement 1961-1962 Corvette expansion tank. Expansion tanks, often referred to as recovery tanks allowed for expansion or recovery of coolant as the engine temperature rises. Expansion tanks equipped Corvettes used radiators without radiator caps. A tube and rubber hose connected the expansion tank to the radiator.

Replacement tanks are undated. Original 1961-1964 Corvettes expansion tanks came with pressed-in tubes. The tubes became an issue as wrestling with heater hose connections would often break loose the connection and cause the tank to leak. GM fixed this problem with their later design and service tanks.
